I can’t protect everyone.

I can’t protect everyone. Even though I wish I could.

I can’t protect everyone,
because not everyone comes to me and says, “Help me.”

Every day, I see what happens when things are left unprotected.
Systems left open.
People who don’t know what’s happening in the background.
And sometimes, it’s exactly those
who are least able to protect themselves.

An elderly man who kept receiving calls from foreign bots.
New numbers.
New attempts.
An endless cycle.

Blocking numbers doesn’t help. As soon as one is gone, the next one appears.

Until I finally found a permanent solution for him,
a final solution that, for him, became true relief from his daily stress and burden.

And that’s where it suddenly becomes more than just technology.

It’s no longer just about systems. It’s about protecting someone
who cannot protect himself.

I can’t protect everyone. But I also cannot just stand by and do nothing.

I have to help.
Or at least try.
Not because I can solve everything. But because looking away is not an option for me.

In IT, that means:
Protect where possible.
Secure where necessary.
Be prepared for when something happens.

Because real security doesn’t begin at the moment of attack. It begins before:
Through planning.
Through structure.
Through clear processes.
Emergency plans.
Scripts.
Procedures that activate exactly when they are needed.

A shield that is not improvised, but prepared.

And this idea goes even deeper for me.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.”
(Psalm 119:105)

The written word of God is exactly that for me:
Guidance.
Protection.
Direction in situations I cannot fully comprehend on my own.

Just as a well-written script protects a system,
God’s word gives me stability in life.

Not everything can be planned.
Not everything can be controlled.
But I am not unprepared.

I can’t protect everyone. But I can be prepared.

And I can try to do what is right.
